Online-Enrolment for international Students

After a successful application, you will receive a letter of admission from the University of Rostock.

Applications for enrolment are possible within the deadlines stated on the admission letter.

Registration

In order to access your personal data, you must first register in the University of Rostock's application portal.
The personal access data for registration will be sent in a separate email after receiving the admission letter.

Please follow the instructions contained in the email to activate access.

Online enrolment

After you have successfully registered in the application portal of the University of Rostock, you can now apply for enrolment in the chosen course of study. You can enrol using the “Apply for enrolment/change of degree program” tab.

Follow the instructions, check and complete the information if necessary. At the end of online enrolment, the application for enrolment is generated. Please print this out and send it signed with the documents to be submitted to the University of Rostock until the end of the enrolment period. A list of the documents to be submitted can be found on the printed application.

Missing documents and information are stored in the application portal. Please check your account regularly. As soon as you are enrolled from our site, you will receive an email from the student office with further information about enrolment and payment of the semester fee.

required Documents

In addition to the application for enrolment that was generated at the end of online enrolment, the following documents must be submitted:

  • Copy of valid passport or personal identification document
  • electronic proof of health insurance from a statutory German health insurance company (for privately insured persons we need a proof for the existence of an exemption from the statutory health insurance)
  • attested copies of all certificates that qualify for university admission in your home country (attested copies of the original documents as well as a German or English translation)
  • attested copies of all university reports and diplomas (attested copies of the original documents as well as a German or English translation)
  • attested Copy of sufficient German knowledge, English knowledge or adequate examination (only if required)
  • Curriculum vitae in tabular form (from the age of 16, completely without time gaps)
  • Copy of exmatriculation/de-registration (only if you have been enrolled in Germany before)

Please do not staple or clip the documents and submit them in the minimum size A5.

Confirmation of receipt of documents will only be issued if a stamped and addressed postcard prepared as confirmation of receipt is enclosed.

The submitted documents will be destroyed after processing. Therefore, in your own interest, do not attach any original documents to your documents, but only officially certified copies.

Activation of the online portal for the enrolment of prospective international students:

  • for the winter semester from 01 June to 30 September of the year 
  • for the summer semester from 01 February to 31 March of the year
