The Chancellor heads the Central University Administration and is responsible for the University's budget, personnel, legal affairs and real estate. He is the budget officer and must be involved in all measures of financial significance.

The Chancellor is supported by the staff in his office and by the staff units Appointments, Occupational Safety, Internal Audit and Organisational Development.
