University of Rostock University Council
The University Council provides guidance to the University in relation to development planning and proposes measures aimed at raising the University's profile and enhancing its performance and competitiveness. Within this general scope it contributes in particular to the production of University development concepts, drawing up principles for the provision of equipment and furnishings and the economic, task-compliant use of research and teaching materials based on performance and utilisation criteria as well as the establishment, modification and withdrawal of study programmes. The University Council also promotes links between the University and the City of Rostock as well as the surrounding region.
Members: All members are appointed to serve a period of four years (10/2012 - 9/2016).
Those who are currently entitled to speak and have the right to table motions within the University Council are: Prof. Dr. Wolfgang D. Schareck, Vice Chancellor
