Doctorates and Habilitations
Which dissertations and habilitations can be found in the online portal „Education, study and research“ (LSF)?
All dissertations and habilitations successfully completed at the faculties are recorded in the LSF retroactively from 2009 on.
What information are included?
- Topic of the dissertation/habilitation
- Doctoral candidate / post-doctoral candidate
- Awarded academic degree
- Field of doctorate / habilitation (in case this information is intended in the relevant dissertation/habilitation regulations)
- Date of awarding
- Oral examination date (for dissertations only)
- Supervisor
- Allocation to an institution (awarding faculty)
- Publication of the dissertation/habilitation

How often are the data collected?
The basic data on a dissertation / a habilitation are usually collected one month after successful completion at the faculty latest. The publication data (printed medium and electronic resource) are recorded after the data are taken over by the university library.
Who is involved into the data collection?
- Initial/central collection: Department 1, Unit Academic Self-Government, Subject area Dissertations and Habilitations (D1.2)
- Complementary collection: The project management can add information on allocating a dissertation/habilitation to a research project.
