Degree Students

The harbor and maritime economy, the different cultures of a crossroads port, and the university have made the city of Rostock an economic and cultural center on the Baltic Sea for hundreds of years.

The University of Rostock is the oldest university in the Baltic Sea area, inheriting a rich tradition of nearly 600 years of teaching and research. Today roughly 14,000 students fill the new departments. More than 150 different degree programs are offered, including currently six Master's programmes and one doctoral programme in English:

We are happy that you are interested in studying at the University of Rostock! To help guide you through the application process, we have prepared some information about it, linked below, which we have prefaced with a description of entrance requirements, both academic and language-related, and capped off with an introduction to student life in the city.

Further Information

Every semester, the Rostock International House (RIH) organises diverse and interesting orientation weeks to welcome newly enrolled international students to the University of Rostock. Here you can find information on the current orientation week.
